Community Cat Trappers

Interested in becoming a Volunteer Community Cat Trapper on behalf of BARCS? This opportunity would allow us to expand our outreach services to accelerate the impact of the Community Cats Program.

What to expect:

When new colonies are reported to BARCS we will request assistance based on zip code. Each zip code(s) will be claimed by a Volunteer(s). When community cats are reported in the area, this will trigger an email containing the profile of the location. This email will include the following:

  • Known Caretaker

  • Size of Colony

  • Feeding station, location and meal times

  • Any known medical concerns within the colony

  • If any, a description of already TNR’d colony cats

Each Volunteer will have the opportunity to approve or deny location prior to the sharing of any personal information, caretaker included.

Once approved, the Volunteer will communicate directly with the Caretaker to arrange the trapping and transportation of these cats to and from BARCS for the use of our TNR clinic.

BARCS will provide as needed:

  • Traps

  • Trap Covers

  • Bait

  • Labeling supplies

All Volunteers must abide by our Community Cats Program guidelines. By applying you agree to follow the provided guidelines.

Once applied you will be contacted by the Volunteer Department with details on the next steps.
